For the past six years, Nikki Cain has been a certified nursing assistant (CNA). Although she didn’t begin her career in healthcare, she was drawn to it after spending time working as a housekeeper and kitchen aide in a skilled nursing facility. She found that she was able to connect with the residents and loved spending time with them.

Now, she has worked for Golden Living for nearly four years. “What I like is that I can get along with my residents, talk with them, have a sense of humor with them,” she says. Nikki goes above and beyond with her patients and residents. She’s known to go out of her way to provide snacks or other things that they ask for. “I do it out of the kindness of my heart,” she explains.

Nikki’s friendly demeanor and positive attitude serve her well as a CNA. She believes in working together with her coworkers to make everyone’s job as easy as possible. “We work as a team and try to get into the habit of helping one another,” she explains.

But there’s more to Nikki than meets the eye. In addition to working full time, she takes care of her own family. “I try to spend as much time with my kids as I can.” She also enjoys several other activities. “I love singing,” she says with a chuckle. “A lot of people might not know that, but I love it. I love baking, too, and trying new recipes.”
